Essential Responsibilities of Personnel:
- Administer and oversee the personnel policies and procedures for certificated and classified employees.
- Coordinate and participate in labor negotiations with Santa Barbara Teachers’ Association (SBTA) and California School Employees Association (CSEA). Work with CSEA and SBTA in developing and interpreting collective bargaining agreements and resolution of grievances.
- Direct the recruitment, selection, assignment, transfer, promotion and termination of certificated and classified personnel.
- Administer hiring procedures, including job descriptions, applications, screening and interviewing committees and employment offers.
- Develop solutions to various types of personnel problems; including placements, performance, turnover, classification, employee assistance and employer-employee relations.
- Maintain and support computer-based personnel data program.
- Administer salary compensation/monthly payroll.
- Coordinate and manage evaluation procedures for certificated, classified, and management employees.
- Administer the districts’ health and welfare benefit and workers’ compensation programs; participate in insurance committee and safety committee; liaison with loss control consultant to maintain OSHA compliance and developing safety-training programs.
- Oversee implementation of professional growth (classified employees) and class transfer (certificated employees) programs.
- Work with administrative staff to resolve discipline and grievance issues.
- Monitor credentials for certificated staff.
