A-OK Program Leader (After School Education And Safety Grant Program)

Open until filled

Salary: $11.35 – $13.50 per hour based on experience. Pay is hourly, per days worked and for any extra hours as required or approved. Paid monthly. No paid health benefits, vacation days, sick days or holidays.

Assignment: 2 – 6 p.m. daily, every school day at elementary schools with A-OK programs in Santa Barbara. Assignment is to one specific school.

Definition: Under the direction of the A-OK site coordinator, the A-OK program leader supervises a group of 15 – 20 students, assisting with the homework help component and providing enrichment activities. As an A-OK team member, the Program Leader plans and delivers A-OK curricula, considers age level developmental needs and interests, is a positive role model for students, supports students to experience a variety of learning opportunities, and creates a positive environment for learning and enrichment with a goal of 100% participation.

Education and Experience: Bachelor's or associate degree is preferred plus experience working with group of school aged children in organized setting. Require at minimum: graduation from high school plus documented experience working with groups of school age children in an organized setting. Must have experience working with elementary age children and able to successfully manage groups. Those with less than 2 years college completed must pass a Proficiency Exam given at school district.
