School Health Assistant

Salary: $15.42 – $19.02 per hour, paid monthly. Classified salary schedule, range 31. Initial placement shall be determined according to training and experience; maximum salary placement will be at mid-range. This position covered by employee selected insurance plan. Benefits include holidays, vacation and sick leave.

Assignment: Six hours per day, nine months per year position available at Washington Elementary School. Monday through Friday, hours to be determined.

Definition: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, administer basic first aid, and routine and emergency health assessment, treatment and referral services, dispense medications and screen ill or injured students in accordance with state laws and established district regulations and procedures; assist in the prevention, early detection and correction of health related problems; prepare and maintain a variety of records, files and reports.

Education and Experience: Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school and one year of clerical or office experience.
