Santa Barbara Junior High School
(Established in 1932)

Santa Barbara Junior High School has designed a stimulating climate which presents appropriate challenges to students in their critical middle years. Santa Barbara Junior High offers multiple programs that provide specialized academic instruction for students with different learning needs. In addition to a broad academic menu, a host of elective classes, after-school sports, clubs and other special activities provide opportunities for students to become well-rounded individuals. Currently, 793 students are enrolled at Santa Barbara Junior High School.

At the heart of the school is an excellent Library Media Center. A source of pride is the library’s beautiful Douglas Parshall mural that depicts Olympic sports. It was painted in 1934 and each year it attracts many visitors from the community.

Santa Barbara Junior High was constructed in 1932 on a 16.44-acre site. During the years since its construction, four portables have been added to the site. All four portables are over 25 years old and in need of immediate replacement.
