La Colina Junior High to Celebrate Jake Boysel’s Birthday with a Tree Planting

At 8:00 a.m. on Friday morning, August 31, 2007, the students and staff of La Colina Junior High School will gather to celebrate what would have been the thirteenth birthday of Jake Boysel. Jake’s life was lost on September 7 when, as a 12-year-old seventh grader, he was struck by a car while riding his bicycle to school.

According to Principal David Ortiz, Jake’s September 1 birthday will be celebrated tomorrow morning with the planting of an oak tree next to on of the school’s physical education rooms. Jake’s family will be present.
