The Santa Barbara School Districts are currently advertising for a new assistant superintendent of business services. Applications will be accepted through January 18, 2008. In the interim, Eric Smith, a consultant for business services, has started his assignment with the districts. Eric is being paid for working three days each week at a rate that is equivalent to the weekly rate paid to the assistant superintendent of business services. Eric is a veteran administrator who has served as a deputy superintendent for the Berkeley Unified School District, management analyst for Fiscal Crisis and Management Assistance Team, deputy superintendent for San Luis Obispo County Office of Education, assistant superintendent in Paso Robles, and assistant superintendent for Eureka City Schools. Eric was the team leader of the last FCMAT study for our districts and comes highly recommended by School Services of California, FCMAT, and the Santa Barbara County Education Office.
