Santa Barbara School Districts’ Board of Education Updates Facility Master Plan
The Santa Barbara School Districts’ board of education approved the facility master plan update at their December 4, 2007 special meeting. Highlights of the plan include:
- Cesar Chavez Charter School being housed on the Franklin Elementary School campus;
- Santa Barbara Charter School being housed on the Goleta Valley Junior High School campus;
- Open Alternative School being housed on the La Colina Junior High School campus;
- La Cumbre Junior High School and Santa Barbara Community Academy shared space on the La Cumbre Junior High School campus.
A committee will now look at locating some La Cuesta Continuation High School programs at the former site of the Santa Barbara Community Academy (on Ortega Street) and a separate committee will look at school closure issues.
