News Flash: 2008-09 School Calendar Ratified by Santa Barbara Teachers Association

This afternoon, the Santa Barbara Teachers Association confirmed ratification of the proposed calendar for the Santa Barbara School Districts for school year 2008-09. Pending approval by the board of education on January 8, 2008, the calendar would be distributed to the school community.

The proposed calendar would have the same start date as last year (one week before Labor Day); a two-week winter break; and a one-week spring break. The end of the school year would be early June 2009.

With the exception of the two year-round schools, if the board of education approves the proposed calendar, the elementary and secondary schools would all be on the same calendar.
