Destiny Library Catalog Instructions (Santa Barbara Elementary School District)

In September 2007 the Santa Barbara School Districts converted to Destiny Library Manager. An important feature of Destiny is that it is web-based, allowing access to the catalog from any computer with an Internet connection. The following information provides elementary students, parents and teachers with the tools to access and navigate the library catalog. These instructions will be translated into Spanish and posted in Book Corner on the districts’ web site for distribution to students and parents.

Destiny is accessible from any computer with an Internet connection.

Access from School

• Open a browser window in FireFox or Internet Explorer.
• Enter the following url: http://10.26.2.123 in the browser window
• Click on your school and refer to the search instructions below.

Access from Home

• Open a browser window in FireFox or Internet Explorer.
• Enter the following url: http://68.111.39.52
• Click on your school and refer to the search instructions below.

Catalog Search Instructions

• Click on the Basic Search tab. Enter a search term in the Find box. Click on the appropriate search button below the box, such as Keyword, Title, etc. Results will then be displayed. The number of copies available is shown to the right of the title. Click on Details for more information.
• Too many or too few titles found? Click on Refine Your Search to try again.
• Note: Do not use the Back button to return to a previous screen. This will cause you to exit the catalog. To return to the Find box, click on Library Search on the green line at the top of the screen.
