Santa Barbara High Brings Back the 1960s with Jeff Barry: Music for a New Generation

Santa Barbara High School’s Otto Layman will be directing two 7:00 pm concerts the weekend of Friday, February 29 and Saturday, March 1 with classic 1960s songs by Montecito resident Jeff Barry. “Tell Laura I Love Her,” “Going to the Chapel,” “Leader of the Pack,” “Do Wah Diddy,” and “River Deep, Mountain High” are certain to strike a cord for baby boomers in the audience. Mr. Barry’s songs will be sung by Santa Barbara High School students.

Mr. Barry will be on hand to host the event, which is a fundraiser to benefit the students’ upcoming trip to the Fringe Festival in Scotland.

Ticket prices are $35 for adults and $15 for students. The performances will be held in the school’s theater. For more information, call Mr. Layman at (805) 966-9101, extension 220.
