Santa Barbara Community Academy to hold Nutrition Decathlon
On Friday, April 11, from 9:00-11:00 a.m., students in grades 3-6 at the Santa Barbara Community Academy will spring into health with a fun-filled Nutrition Decathlon. Grades 3-4 will participate on the playground lawn from 9:00-10:00 a.m. and grades 5-6 will participate from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Events for both groups will be the apple toss, carrot hop, strawberry relay, squash stretch, citrus hike, and apple taste testing. The purpose of the event is to celebrate healthy eating and daily activity.
Tomorrow’s Nutrition Decathlon is a joint project of the Academy, Santa Barbara County Public Health Department, Children’s Dental Disease Prevention Program, “Children’s Power Play Campaign,” Gold Coast Collaborative, Assistance League of Santa Barbara, and Partners for Fit Youth.
