Anissa McNeil to serve as the Santa Barbara School Districts’ Director of Special Education
Anissa McNeil will be joining the Santa Barbara School Districts in May 2008, as the new director of special education. She currently works as a coordinator of early childhood education and provides administrative assistance to the special education department in the Mountain View Elementary School District in El Monte, CA. Ms. McNeil was the CEO and owner of Education Works.
“I am pleased that Anissa McNeil will be joining our districts. She has a deep understanding of special education law and implementation, speech and language evaluation and therapy, professional development training, and early childhood education. She is very passionate about the needs and potential of students with special needs,” stated Superintendent Brian Sarvis.
Ms. McNeil is completing her doctorate of education in organizational leadership at Pepperdine University. She has a master’s degree in educational administration and leadership from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego and master’s degree in speech language pathology from Cal State-Fullerton. She earned a bachelor’s degree in communicative disorder from Cal State-Los Angeles.
Ms. McNeil’s contract period is 225 days. The salary range for this position is $104,893 – $117,295. She replaces Jo Anne Pulley.
