Kudos to San Marcos High School’s Law Week 2008 Essay Contest Winners

Three essayists from San Marcos High School won the county Law Week 2008 essay contest. They are all freshmen in Desa Mandarino’s class. First place winner is Eli Harris ($500 award); second place went to Amy Ransohoff ($250 award); and third place went to Dillon Kraus ($100 award).

At 5:00 p.m. today, May 2, the students will be presented their awards at the Santa Barbara Courthouse, 1100 Anacapa Street, Department 3. The recognition is free and open to the public.

According to the Santa Barbara County Bar Foundation, the award-winning San Marcos High School Mock Trial Team will be presenting its first-degree murder case as well. The team won the Santa Barbara area mock trial competition this year.
