United Way Recognizes Santa Barbara School Districts at Annual Awards Celebration
The Santa Barbara School Districts’ employees were recognized last night at the 85th annual awards celebration. United Way of Santa Barbara County recognized individuals and organizations that made a difference in the 2007-08 United Way campaign. Among the top honorees:
- Community Impact Organization of the Year: Santa Barbara School Districts
- Outstanding Education Division Award: Santa Barbara School Districts
- Outstanding Employee Campaign Manager More than 400 Employees: Janet Carroll, Santa Barbara School Districts
In 2007-08, employees of the Santa Barbara School Districts contributed over $23,500. Many of the donations were designated to the United Way’s programs that serve children in our school districts, such as “Fun In The Sun,” “Success By 6,” “Pre-kindergarten Institutes,” “Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngers (HIPPY),” “Project Learn/A-OK,” and “211.” The remaining United Way initiatives and partnerships support families and seniors.
Every employee donor and every school site United Way representative had an important role in bringing valuable programs and services to the children and families we serve.
