Board of Education Candidates for the November 2008 Election
A single board of education governs the Santa Barbara Elementary and High School Districts. The board is made up of five elected representatives, each serving a four-year term. The terms of Laura Malakoff, Annette Cordero, and Nancy Harter expire in November 2008.
The deadline to file with the Santa Barbara County Elections Office was August 13, 2008, at 5:00 pm. The Santa Barbara County Elections Office indicates that six individuals filed paperwork to run for the three seats: Susan Deacon, Annette Cordero, H. Edward Heron, Jacqueline Inda, Charlotte Ware, and Kate Smith. Their names will appear on the November 4, 2008 election ballot.
