Traffic Alert: Construction of Traffic Signals on Foothill Road at Cieneguitas (near La Colina Junior High School)
Roadway construction in the area of La Colina Junior High School is scheduled to begin September 15, 2008. Forty-five working days are scheduled by Santa Barbara County Public Works Department (in cooperation with the city and California Department of Transportation) for roadway improvements at the intersection of Foothill Road at Cieneguitas. The estimated completion date is November 18, 2008.
This project will improve pedestrian, vehicle, and bicycle safety, by constructing a new traffic
signal, sidewalk, ADA compliant curb ramps with crosswalks, and storm drain facilities. The road will remain open at all times, but traffic controls will be in place during construction. Traffic delays up to 10 minutes can be expected in some areas of the project during construction.
Construction hours are from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Thursday and from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm on Friday.
