Last year, the Santa Barbara High School District provided approximately $925,000 in support of sports programs through facilities, coaching stipends, and additional safety (ambulances and policing). Boosters and students provided additional funding for new equipment and transportation.
Students are provided equal opportunities to participate and do not have to “pay to play.”
In order to promote consistency and parity between the district’s schools, no supplementary pay or other forms of compensation are permitted to be added to district-provided coaching stipends.
