Meg Jetté to Serve as Districts’ Director of Fiscal Services

Meg Jetté, the Santa Barbara County Education Office district financial advisor, will be joining the Santa Barbara School Districts. She will serve as the districts’ director of fiscal services, replacing Shirley Corpuz, who will be leaving in early October. “We thank Shirley for her hard work, particularly during a very challenging period in our fiscal operations. We wish her the best,” said Superintendent Brian Sarvis.

Meg has extensive experience in school fiscal operations and human resources. Since 2003, while working at the county education office, she has reviewed budgets and financial statements to ensure solvency of school districts throughout the county; provided support, advice, and statistical analyses to business officials; researched legislation dealing with education; assisted school districts with attendance and revenue limit reporting; provided technical assistance in the budget process; assisted in risk management; coordinated, prepared, and presented workshops; researched financial accounting issues; and participated in the SELPA fiscal committee.

Prior to joining the county education office, Meg held various positions in a debit card processing company, including human resources manager and accounting manager. She has several years of experience in the fiscal operations of a mortgage company.

Meg’s education includes an accounting degree, Santa Barbara City College; professional accounting certificate, UC Santa Barbara Extension; and completion of the School Business Manager’s Academy offered by the Association for California School Administrators.

Meg will begin work on Monday, October 13, 2008.
