Districts Access More than $50m in State Funds for Construction Projects

Over the past five years, the Santa Barbara School Districts have accessed over $50 million in state funds for construction projects. Dave Hetyonk, director of facilities and operations, is credited for accessing state funds that have greatly extended the benefit of bond Measure I-98 in the elementary district and Measure V in the secondary district by adding almost $11 million to elementary construction projects and almost $41 million to secondary construction projects. In total, the districts have received $51.5 million in state funds and are in line to receive another $6.4 million.
