Santa Barbara High Net Café Seeks Support for their Quest to win the Best Buy @ 15 Challenge
The Santa Barbara High School Dons Net Café, a Regional Opportunity Program, is one of 30 finalists for Best Buy Youth Venture, a nationwide competition that rewards ventures that benefit communities. Fifteen finalists each will receive a $10,000 award to make positive change in their community. A win will enable the Santa Barbara High students to implement environmental ventures and purchased needed laptops for its VITA tax program.
Teacher Lee Ann Knodel says that in order win, Best Buy’s online competition requires community support:
“We have an easy way for you and yours to help us. You can text your vote to phone #32075 for our venture by typing BBYV10 (Best Buy Youth Venture 10) as message! They'll send you an immediate confirmation message thanking you for voting for the Dons Net Cafe. You can vote every day until January 16, 2009! We are asking supporters to vote 1 time every 24 hours.”
