La Cuesta Continuation High School’s end-of-semester presentations on making positive choices

On Friday, January 16, La Cuesta Continuation High School will hold an end-of-semester event at the La Colina Junior High School theater for approximately 130 students from Community Day School, La Cuesta San Marcos, and students from the school’s Santa Barbara Street campus.

At 10:15 p.m., “Think First,” presented by Rehabilitation Institute, features speaker Bill Balles. Bill has been in a wheelchair since age 17. As a teen, Bill went over a locked fence with a number of other students trying to gain entrance to a swimming pool and landed on his head. That decision changed his life.

At 11:00 a.m., students will listen to Drama Kings from Los Prietos Boys Camp. Drama King participants have to earn the privilege to perform. They tell their own personal story of why they are in camp, what they might have done differently, how they will change their lives when they get out.

The La Colina Junior High School theater is located at 4025 Foothill Road, Santa Barbara, CA 93110
