Elementary Schools to Celebrate Lincoln’s 200th Birthday
This year marks the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s birth. Most libraries in the Santa Barbara Elementary School District are going to mark the occasion with a bulletin board about Lincoln and biographies about the nation’s 16th president will be read to students. Elementary district librarian Nancy Tobin indicates that recent biographies on Lincoln were acquired with funds from Rotary. Ms. Tobin has provided a list of resources for teachers with links for appropriate web sites with lesson plan ideas and activities for students.
