Possible Name Change for the Santa Barbara High School District
The board of education is considering changing the name of our high school district to “Santa Barbara Secondary District” so that the name conveys inclusion of all grade 7-12 secondary students. The change would not affect our districts’ signs, letterhead, correspondence, logos, or shirts worn by employees since the name “Santa Barbara School Districts” would still be the main title for recognition of our elementary and secondary districts.
Technical titles for the elementary district and high school district are used for specific purposes such as CBEDS data, state testing, property ownership, and ballot initiatives such as parcel taxes and bond levies.
