April is Poetry Month and La Cuesta and La Cumbre Students Take Top Honors in Local Contest
The Santa Barbara Library and The Santa Barbara Independent’s Poetry Contest for middle school and high school students took place this week and district students won five of the top six honors. Three La Cuesta Middle College students swept the high school level of the contest: Nitsa Pomerleau took first place, Marley Taylor won second place, and Alexie Phillips came in third. At the junior high level, La Cumbre Junior High’s Savannah Hudson took second place and Amanda Helmsley took third place. Congratulations students!
