San Marcos Madrigal Singers Deliver Stellar Performance in Orange County
On April 20, the San Marcos Madrigal Singers rocked the new Segerstrom Hall at the Orange County Performing Arts Center with an electric performance at the National Invitational Festival of Gold. Selected by clinicians, professional choral directors at the university level, the San Marcos Madrigal Singers, directed by Carolyn Teraoka-Brady, were selected as the top group from the festival, and were featured as the closing choir for the Encore Concert. The 29-voice ensemble received a standing ovation for a performance that the clinicians felt was at the level of professional singers. Congratulations go to senior Kristy Hepp who was selected as one of three soloists singing the major work, “Gloria” composed by John Rutter and sung by the 200 voice festival honor choir and professional orchestra.
