High School Special Event: Art Bash on Monday, May 18
Approximately 250 High School teachers and students from Santa Barbara High, Dos Pueblos, San Marcos, VADA, and La Cuesta campuses will attend the May 18 special high school event, Art Bash, focused on the work of Yinka Shonibare, and Brett Weston. Art Bash will feature music, refreshments, art making activities based on the work of Yinka Shonibare. Also featured will be a projection of a collective photo submission project, Out of the Shadow or Into Abstraction, that highlights student work relating to Brett Weston’s photographs, and a custom “on the spot” creation of La Cuesta student-designed stenciled t-shirts.
High school students and teachers will be the only invited participants from 10 a.m. to noon in the museum galleries, front steps and back plaza. This is an opportunity for students to see, make, and share art.
