Two Academy Students Thrilled to Have a Turn at the Forester’s Pitching Mound

Following a July 29 classroom visit by representatives of the Santa Barbara Foresters, Santa Barbara Community Academy fourth graders Romeo Lopez and Yamile Fuentes were selected from all the Academy’s students to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at last weekend’s Santa Barbara Foresters baseball game against the East LA Dodgers. Romeo and Yamile were chosen for their positive attitude, doing well in class, studying, following directions, and helping keep the school clean
All Academy students and their families were invited to enter the August 1-2 game for free. Romeo threw the first pitch at Saturday’s 5pm game, and Yamile threw out the first pitch at Sunday’s 1pm game.
