Debbie Rankin was recently honored at a Rotary Club luncheon at Fess Parker's Doubletree as the Special Education Teacher-of-the-Year.
She has been a special education teacher in the Santa Barbara School Districts since 2000. She has worked at Open Alternative School and currently works at Monroe. She has been a teacher-in-charge, BTSA support provider, and department chair.
Principal Brent Millhollen shared the following information about her, “Debbie is an incredible teacher and team member. No matter which students are in front of her, she skillfully adjusts to teach them at their level. In fact, she adjusts from one minute to the next without skipping a beat. She is also amazing at scheduling her team on-the-fly as needs change even down to hour by hour. She is a wonderful asset for everyone at Monroe Elementary School.”
