OAS to host a magical Festival of Lights on December 16
The Open Alternative school community will celebrate a multicultural holiday with its Festival of Lights on Wednesday, December 16, from 5:30-7:30 pm. Parents, children and staff will gather to go from room to room to participate in a variety of mid-winter customs. Las Posadas, Winter Solstice, Chinese New Year, Hanukkah, St. Nicholas, Ancient Greek winter celebrations, student holiday and Lego Winter Wonderland will all be represented with decorations, activities, and food. The traditional holiday gathering will culminate with a community sing led by the 4th-8th grade Holiday Singers.
