On Thursday, January 28, 7pm, at the Marjorie Luke Theatre at Santa Barbara Junior High, there will be a free community event to learn about what kids are really doing online and what parents can do to protect them.
“The dangers lurking on the Internet for our students are very real. Children have been lured, for example, into sexually predatory relationships and many do not understand the risks of posting pictures and information about themselves online,” said Superintendent Brian Sarvis. “Please attend and find out what all parents should know to keep our children safe.”
The presentation will cover topics such as social networking, cyberbullying, online predators, plagiarism and cheating, inappropriate websites, and the growing problems with mobile devices.
