Downed tree at Las Flores Preschool
At approximately noon today, a tree at Santa Barbara School Districts’ Las Flores Preschool, 236 West Haley Street (corner of Bath and Haley streets), fell, blocking part of Haley street. Fortunately there were no injuries to the 17-18 children (ages 3-5) and 3 staff members on site. Fire and police immediately responded and blocked off the area.
Parents have been notified that the children are safe but cannot be released until the area is clear.
Twenty students were expected to attend today’s afternoon session, beginning at 12:45 p.m. Those parents have been notified that the Las Flores Preschool afternoon session has been cancelled for today.
Emergency vehicles are still on site.
