Beginning on Thursday February 4 at 6:30 p.m., room 417, Open Alternative School (OAS) will be accepting applications for its Middle School Program.
OAS offers a standards-based curriculum that promotes social justice with an emphasis on service learning. At the middle school level, grades 6-8, OAS students will be examining history from multiple perspectives and how the past impacts the present. Children will be involved in service learning projects that are tied into our community. Unique to the program is collaborative student-to-student mentoring across different grade levels. The curriculum also addresses social-emotional growth. Environmental education is a cornerstone of the curriculum at OAS.
