Kudos to the districts’ mathletes

Saturday, about 80 students from ten public and private high schools from Southern California competed in the 23rd annual High School Mathematics Contest at Westmont College. Students from Dos Pueblos, San Marcos, and Santa Barbara High participated. The fast-paced competition included a Chalk Talk Derby, written exams, and a team College Bowl-type competition. Dos Pueblos High’s 9th and 10th grade team took first in the College Bowl, fourth in the written exam, and second overall team. The school’s 11th and 12th grade team took fourth in the College Bowl, second in the written exam, and third place overall team.

San Marcos High won the 11th and 12th grade College Bowl. San Marcos student Daniel Peterson took second in Chalk Talk. Dos Pueblos won the 9th and 10th grade College Bowl.
