The Blind Doctor
The Santa Barbara Foundation and Blue Point Books generously donated 3,360 copies of The Blind Doctor, including 23 audio books, to the elementary district. The book was used last week as part of Disability Awareness Day in our schools. It is the inspirational story of Jacob Bolotin, born blind in 1888, who fought ignorance and prejudice to become one of the most respected doctors in Chicago. Blindness did not stand in his way.
