San Marcos High School vocalists host Broadway Musical Marathon

On Friday, March 5, students in San Marcos High School’s Vocal Music Department will host the first annual Broadway Musical Marathon. Under the direction of Carolyn Teraoka-Brady students will attempt to perform more than 100 songs (150 is the goal) from 12:30pm to 8:30p.m. This free event is open to the public and audience members are welcome to attend at any point during the eight-hour marathon.

Supporters of the arts are encouraged to make a donation or pledge an amount of their choosing per song. Five school choirs will participate and the funds raised from the marathon will help defray costs for trips to upcoming music festivals in southern California, Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo, and Seattle. "Because we hold ourselves to an excellent performance and behavior standard, we feel privileged to represent San Marcos High School and Santa Barbara wherever we go,” said junior Jacob Elliott, president of the San Marcos Madrigal Singers.
