Update: Race to the Top
California is NOT one of the Round One finalists for Race to the Top funds. Of the 41 states and District of Columbia applying, 16 were selected as finalists: Colorado, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina and Tennessee made the cut. The winners will be announced in April and it is expected that half of the Race to the Top money will be awarded.
