Mobile Waterford Program prepares 4-year-olds for kindergarten
The Child Development Program’s Mobile Waterford Van, a classroom on wheels, provides a literacy program to 4-year-olds who are not currently attending preschool. The program helps children begin to learn to speak and read in English, skills that will prepare them be kindergarten-ready. The program offers free 30-minute individual sessions Monday through Friday as well as instructional materials and parent workshops. The easily identifiable van, decorated with storybook-type characters, stops at several neighborhood sites throughout Santa Barbara’s Eastside and Westside.
