Principal Jo Ann Caines recognized for her leadership and commitment to youth
Jo Ann Caines, principal of La Cumbre Junior High School, was recently recognized for her exemplary performance at her school by The Colonel George C. Woolsey Chapter of the Military Order of the World Wars (MOWW).
Principal Caines was presented with the Bronze Patrick Henry Medallion, the Order’s highest award for patriotism that can be awarded to a person not a member of the MOWW. A certificate and a $1,000 check, to be used by the principal for her school, were part of the recognition received by Ms. Caines. A MOWW news release noted, “Principal Caines has notably improved learning, discipline, and preparation of her students for future development. Her leadership was considered by the Chapter’s Companions to demonstrate those elements which are so fundamental to the education of our youth about our Constitution, Bill of Rights and Patriotism.”
