Santa Barbara High Dons IDEAS club event to benefit AB 540 seniors

Dons IDEAS (Improving Dreams, Equality, Access, and Success) at Santa Barbara High is organizing two events to benefit the school’s AB 540 graduating seniors.  Club advisor Alejandra Gutierrez notes, “There will be two showings of the documentary PAPERS: STORIES OF UNDOCUMENTED YOUTH to create awareness of this student population in our schools and the bigger issue created nationwide. The Wednesday, May 12, 6:00 p.m. showing at Santa Barbara High (SBHS) will be for SBHS students and their families. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for SBHS students.

The public is invited to a second screening that will take place on Saturday, May 15, 5:00 p.m. at Franklin Elementary School, 1111 E. Mason Street. On Saturday, food will be sold from 4:00-5:00 p.m. May 15 pre-sale tickets are $6 and can be purchased from the SBHS Career Center. Tickets purchased at the door will cost $10.

A donor is picking up all film-related costs and all proceeds will be given as a book grant to Santa Barbara High AB 540 graduating seniors.
