This Friday, May 28, 2010, the districts’ board of education will hold a special meeting that will include a facilities tour of two school sites. The purpose of the meeting is to allow board members to conduct visitation of Santa Barbara High School and Adams Elementary School to view and learn about capital improvement needs prior to consideration of a possible bond ballot measure.
The meeting will be convened and public comments taken in the districts’ Board Room, Administration Office, Santa Barbara School Districts, 720 Santa Barbara Street, Santa Barbara. Following public comments, the board will visit two school sites in turn. There will be no board deliberations or actions taken during the visits and there will be no further opportunity for public comments during the site visits. Anyone wishing to comment at this meeting is being asked to do so at the beginning of the meeting the Board Room.
On the visit to the Santa Barbara High campus, the board will particularly view the cafeteria kitchen and green house. On the visit to the Adams Elementary School campus, the board will particularly view the library and portable configuration.
Members of the public may accompany the board members as they view each of the two campuses, but they will need to arrange their own transportation. Anyone needing translation services should notify the Superintendent’s Office as soon as possible by calling (805) 963-4331, ext 201 or 202.
