Last night, at the Anti-Defamation League’s Community of Respect reception, all schools in the Santa Barbara School Districts were recognized as No Place for Hate schools. This is the first year that the districts have had 100 percent participation in No Place for Hate. The designation is given to schools that implement at least three diversity and anti-bias activities annually. Superintendent Brian Sarvis said, “Our staff and students have the right to a safe, positive school environment and I appreciate their ongoing efforts in implementing anti-bullying programs and conveying the important messages of inclusion, mutual respect, acceptance, and understanding.”
