Open Alternative to host an Empty Bowl fundraiser on Friday
Susie Melican's second/third-grade class at Open Alternative School is hosting an Empty Bowl fundraiser on Friday, May 28. Attendees will take home ceramic luncheon bowls handmade by student artists. Students and parents will prepare a seasonal lunch using organic vegetables from the OAS garden. Money raised will be donated to the Unity Shoppe and Backyard Harvest to help alleviate hunger in Santa Barbara and to the OAS garden to help sustain the school’s backyard bounty. Cost is $10 per donation, RSVPs are encouraged by calling 683-3127.
