San Marcos and Dos Pueblos high schools celebrate student achievement on the Advanced Placement tests

San Marcos High School’s Eugene Wang was identified as a National AP Scholar as he received an average score of at least four on all AP exams taken, and scores of four or higher on eight or more of these exams.

San Marcos High also has 31 students who are rated AP Scholars by the College Board because all have passed at least three AP exams or more with a score of three or higher; 15 AP Scholars with Honors who have an average score of 3.5 on all AP exams taken and scores of 3.00 or higher on four or more of these exams; and 25 students who are Scholars with Distinction who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken and scores of three or more on five AP exams.

It should be noted that John Vance, AP Scholar with Distinction, scored a five, the highest possible score, on all seven of his AP tests (he needed to take eight tests to achieve National AP Scholar recognition).

Dos Pueblos High School reports ten National AP Scholar designations were granted to students who received an average score of at least four on all AP exams taken, and scores of four or higher on eight or more of these exams:

Dos Pueblos High also has 71 students who are rated AP Scholars by the College Board because all have passed at least three AP exams or more with a score of three or higher; 21 AP Scholars with Honors who have an average score of 3.5 on all AP exams taken and scores of 3.00 or higher on four or more of these exams; and 56 students who are Scholars with Distinction who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken and scores of three or more on five AP exams.
