District Honor Band to Perform on February 9
Our school district’s music teachers are planning the 23rd annual Santa Barbara District Honor Band Concert for Thursday, February 9, at 7:00 p.m. at the Marjorie Luke Theater at Santa Barbara Junior High School. Featuring select musicians from all of the elementary, junior high, and high school band programs, a variety of concert band music will be presented in this hour-long concert. The junior high band will perform “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” “Last Ride of the Pony Express,” “National Emblem March,” and “Puttin' on the Ritz.” The high school band will perform “Joie de Vivre,” “Porgy and Bess,” and “Toccata for a New Age.” The junior high band will be under the baton of Dr. Charles Wood and Eric Heidner will direct the high school band. Elementary instrumental music teachers will direct the elementary band.
