It’s the Year of the Dragon and Roosevelt Students Celebrate Chinese New Year
Roosevelt’s students in grades K-3 held a parade at 8:10-8:20 today on campus today to celebrate the Chinese Year of the Dragon. Principal Donna Ronzone said, “This has been a 20-plus year tradition at Roosevelt. Students study Chinese culture and traditions in the days and weeks prior to the event. After the parade students spent time in class solving tangrams, trying their hand at calligraphy, reading and writing about Chinese culture, learning some words and phrases in Chinese, and enjoying snacks using chopsticks!”
