Bestselling author Richard Louv will be at the Granada Theatre on Tuesday, May 15, 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.) for a free event sponsored by the Orfalea Foundation. The topic: “Saving Our Children–And Ourselves–Through Nature.”
Louv coined the term “Nature Deficit Disorder” in his first blockbuster release, “Last Child in the Woods.” His research and insights into our increasing need for nature in an increasingly technological era are influencing communities all over the world.
Some of the local organizations that will be on-hand at the Richard Louv event on May 15 include: Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History, Wilderness Youth Project, Orfalea Foundation, Fairview Gardens, Quail Springs Permaculture, Santa Barbara City College Center for Sustainability, Art From Scrap, Leave No Child Inside, and Outdoor School at Rancho Alegre.
