An Advanced Placement Environmental Science (APES) Fair will run from 11:50 a.m. until 12:20 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, in the San Marcos High School quad. According to physics and environmental science teacher Rob Goettler, “The goal of the fair is to share student knowledge about environmental issues, highlight the school’s solution-based projects, and inspire students to study environmental science with the hope of making positive changes.”
Students will present their projects on composting, school waste management, solar energy, and endangered species. The entire waste collected from San Marcos for one day will be on display, with students presenting information to our students about the need for reducing our waste by producing less and recycling more. Eco-friendly or "outdoorsy" themed raffle prizes will be distributed.
