Save the Date: Presentation on Head Injuries in Sports

Our school district, pediatric trauma services of Cottage Children’s Hospital at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, and Jodi House Brain Injury Support Center are working together to raise awareness regarding sports head injuries. On Monday, August 6, 2012, noted speaker and former athlete Chris Nowinski will speak about concussions in sports. Mr. Nowinski is the co-founder and executive director of the Sports Legacy Insititute, a nonprofit organization dedicated to solving the sports concussion crisis.

The presentation, which will take place at 6:30 p.m. in San Marcos High School’s auditorium, will address new California legislation and its impact on coaches, student athletes, and parents.
