Classified salary schedule, range 33. Initial placement shall be determined according to training and experience; maximum salary placement will be at mid-range. This position is covered by employee selected insurance plan. Benefits include holidays, vacation and sick leave.
Under the direction of the principal, establish and maintain the cumulative records and transcripts of students at an assigned high school; perform a variety of data entry functions; enroll new students.
Establish and maintain the cumulative records and transcripts of students at an assigned high school; file student records as appropriate and provide copies to appropriate personnel. Input data in a computer regarding student schedule changes, grade changes, and student, parent and demographic and other information; generate related records, transcripts and reports. Verify enrollment eligibility; evaluate credits earned from other institutions; enroll and schedule new students according to established procedures. Drop students according to established procedures; coordinate information to be forwarded to the next school; maintain records of students who have left because of age, moving, or students who cannot be contacted; microfilm records as appropriate. Prepare and send transcripts for current and past students to college and universities as requested by students or other institutions; collect related fees. Prepare and maintain attendance reports; generate ADA reports and balance figures. Coordinate grade collection with teachers to facilitate processing; scan forms for grades and print grade reports. Answer phones and greet the public; provide information regarding admissions and records policies and procedures to outside agencies, students and parents as requested. Perform data entry of school master schedule information as assigned. Evaluate students for good-student requests from car insurance companies and other agencies; authorize related forms as school official. Verify enrollment or graduation verification for various outside agencies as requested. Maintain confidential information in student records. Prepare information and complete forms for students qualified as merit scholarship semi-finalists. Perform related duties as assigned.
Knowledge of: School district policies regarding attendance, registration and transcript maintenance. Operation of a computer and assigned software programs. Record-keeping techniques. Oral and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy. Applicable sections of State Education Code and other applicable laws. Basic math. Modern office practices, procedures and equipment.
Ability to: Maintain the cumulative records and the transcripts for students at an assigned high school. Perform a variety of data entry functions and generate various reports. Verify student eligibility and enroll new students. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Maintain records and prepare reports. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Work independently with little direction. Type at 50 words net per minute from clear copy. Interpret, apply and explain provisions of federal, State and District regulations related to admissions, records and attendance reporting.
Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school and three years increasingly responsible clerical experience.
