Vision and Mission Statements
Vision Statement
The Santa Barbara School Districts’ rigorous academic program prepares all students for an increasingly challenging world of diverse cultures and languages and complex technologies. Students work collaboratively, demonstrate problem-solving skills, think critically, act ethically, and have meaningful discussions throughout the Elementary and Secondary Districts about compelling issues. Multiple pathways to learning allow each student access to choices, opportunities, and academic achievement. Instructional strategies address a range of different learning styles and abilities. Santa Barbara schools and the community are interdependent in creating meaningful learning through programs such as field studies, community service, mentoring programs, networking, and parent and community volunteers in the schools.
Mission Statement
The Santa Barbara School Districts, in partnership with parents and the community, will provide professional instruction and guidance so that students will.
- Achieve academic excellence,
- Understand and respect diversity,
- Balance individual interests and civic responsibilities,
- Participate in an increasingly technological society, and
- Take responsibility for their own learning and development.
